Good-day everyone..

Few readers emailed me and asked why its been a while I didn't post anything in this blog. Apart from my daily busy task, I've no idea to write about wedding anymore.. Hahaha.. For me, it's not an easy to find a husband not only as a 'husband' but.. a best friend, a partner in crime, a listener, an advisor, a punching bag :P, a dietitian :P, a fashion police and the list go on and on.. but I'm so lucky to have that all. He's not perfect and so am I. Together, we make a great combination. So many colors, colored the life of ours for these one year, but we been through it with patience and yet, we feel great about it..

Happy Anniversary sayang. May our marriage be showered with so much love and care and maybe lotsa kid :P ..

To be honest, I'm not a type girl who will dreaming about her 'dream wedding' since kid. Yup, seriously I'm so allergy with wedding. :P Dad or mom used to bribe me with cassette, books or etc whenever they wanna tag me along.. And that's annoyed them a lot! Haha. I don know la.. there's something about wedding that make me anxious, choking or whatever word can replace it :P. Nevertheless, as years goes by and when I'm nearly reach 30, I'm getting 'likable' with wedding. So, when both of us planned our wedding we make sure that everyone will feel comfortable and satisfied (in terms of what i also cant tell.. haha) That's the reason y I'm so in love with garden wedding since beach wedding is totally not suitable with our whether except if u wanna do night wedding :P

Anyway.. haha the reason why I wrote this entry takde kene mengene langsung dengan my introduction tadi. Saje nak create drama sikit.. :P Anyway, as I mention to my friend earlier, if you wanna do business a.k.a being wedding planner, make sure you plan accordingly and do it with all your heart, although it gonna took all your blood and sweat! Because, with any wrong step by any foot, U gonna ruin and haunting someone life forever :P.. Yelah, kita nak kawin sekali je seumur hidup kan? (insyAllah), so might as well u do it right. By right it doesn't mean to be grand.. Simple but sweet..

Ola Barcelona part 2

We were welcomed by a beautiful blue sky and just nice sunny on our second day in Barca. Just imagine, we're living in gloomy weather for like I donno how many days and suddenly everything's so bright. What's not to love aite? :)

Because of the good weather, we decided to go back to Sangrada DeFamilia to take photo again.. And yes, the photo look so much better with blue sky..

Look what I found near Sangrada DeFamilia? haha, guess my work still haunting me even in Europe :P .. Masa kat sini Chiwonkey said he heard someone played Nirvana song. 'Lithium'.. terus dia bersemangat lepas tu.. hehe :P

Without time to waste, we continued our journey to Park Güell. This is a garden complex with architectural elements situated on the hill of el Carmel in the Gràcia district. It was designed also by the famous Antoni Gaudí and built in the years 1900 to 1914. Kat sini memang best la. There's a lot of street performers while visiting. So, beside sight-seeing u will be entertained by them. But ada jugak street performers yang kerek dan tak suka if u guys amik gambar dorang dekat2 or if u amik gambar, mesti bagi tip :P.. So jangan la buat2 tak tau pulak.. Haha

Next destination --> Museu Picasso or Museum Picasso. Siapa tak kenal Picasso kan? One of the greatest fine artist in the world... Unfortunately, no photo allowed while visiting. And u can actually buy the ticket via online if if u plan to go or just buy at the entrance.. U can find a lots of Picasso's famous masterpiece here. Some from Japanese artists and among them are Katsushika Hokusai, Katsukawa Shuncho and Isoda Koryusai.. The boys getting excited with these erotic arts :P .. Hehe memang menggelikan sedikit, unfortunately you will enjoy it more or less. Hahahaha (both photos taken by Blackberry)

Me and Sara called the night quite early but not the boys.. They went to this club called La Garrafa or known as 'The Beatles Pub Barcelona'. According to Chiwonkey and Fairuz this club is like 'tribute to The Beatles'. You can find a lot of Beatles posters and photos on the wall. N there were acoustic session playing all Beatles songs too. It's bit rugi but I was so sleepy that night. I donno la I felt sleepy easily along this Euro trip. Maybe cause of the cool whether. Heh :P

ada apa dengan nama?

Recently I've launched jacky hussein TM group on facebook. Oh no, I'm not looking for groupies but it's a side project of mine. :P And the story started when Mariq invited to me to join him as a jewelery designer under Mariq Diamond TM group. Apparently, Mariq saw my interest in designing during our wedding ring designing session. Later he proposed and of coz I said 'YES'! Like some may have known, Jacky is not my real name. Got it in during high school (girl school) and I was in a play called 'Jack and the Beanstalk'. So I think u guys can guess how Jack or Jacky came from. And Hussein is my surname. From there, the name kinda stuck with me until today. Oh, I'm not saying that I don't like or not proud of my real name because I'm using my real name professionally while working :) I'm not a professional artist but I've been sketching since I first know how to hold a pencil or colors. I was in UiTM for Diploma in Landscape Architecture, although it lasted for one mth.. :P (long story..) And working in high fashion and beauty magazine for about 3 years makes my love for this line grows. So here I am...

Ola Barcelona.. (part 1)

From Paris, we flew to Barcelona via Easy Jet - one of the cheapest air plane in UK, sama seperti Air Asia. The journey took around 2 hours (rasanya la.. because memang sekejab) haha.. Compare to the rest of UKlander, Barcelona (Spain) climate is Mediterranean. Although is winter but not that freezing's cold compare to London and Paris. Masa sampai, agak sejuk jugak because after raining. The minute I landed to this city, I've fall in love with it. Its like love at the first sight. The city is clean compare to London and Paris. And the public transportation are superb and comfortable. Tak cramp macam sardin and flow nicely.

Once arrived we took the Metro to Sant Jordi Hostel that's located at one of the longest and best known streets of the city, Avenida Diagonal.We don't have so much trouble searching for the place and we got help from the local ;) . The hostel staffs is quiet friendly and we love the place. Its cozy and feels like home.

Once settle, we started our journey to La Sagrada Familia. One of the most glamorous unfinished church build by Antoni Gaudi. FYI this church being build since 1882. And gonna continue maybe till 30 or 80 more years. Imagine! Barcelona memang terkenal kerana senibina nya. And Gaudi ni memang famous architect over the world. Most of the building yang ada kat sini got his personal art touch. Amongst the famous one; Casa Mila, Lamppost for the Placa Reial, ParkGuell and etc. If you love architecture, Barcelona definitely a place for you.. We make our own tour around the city before stop to Port Vell area.

Beside architecture, shopping kat sini memang la heaven. Just imagine MANGO, ZARA, Pull & Bear, Desigual, H&M, Primark with half of price. Memang la jadi gila kat sini okay.. Hahaha..

After loosing our pocket (hehe), we're searching for food around La Ramla area. But the most frustrating part, we didn't got a change to try out local dishes such as paella or tapas. Reason being, its very difficult to find the cheapest and no-ham as the ingredient. So daripada was-was, we back to Kebab.. I know! (rolling eyes.. haha)

Bonjour Paris!

Untuk pengetahuan anda semua, perjalanan kami ke Paris adalah sebenarnya transit untuk ke Barcelona (skema tak my ayat? haha). So we stayed one night at Vintage Hostel in Paris before proceed to Barcelona the next day. From London we took Eurolines bus from Victoria Coach Station London. If you wanna compare between train n flight, buses are most cheapest. Although it may take 7-8hrs to arrive. That being said, if you have a lot of free time and not a lot of cash, this is definitely the least expense way to travel from London to Paris. Fares for buses (or coaches as they’re called in the UK) start at just around £15. We all bertolak malam so we can just sleep along the journey. We had the most funniest experience that night. Masa tengah tunggu bas, we all sibuk main kad. Beside Paris, there's were coaches to Amsterdam and few other places and they will announce which coaches are ready to depart. Our coach supposedly to leave around 10pm and we didn't realize anything until the station tiba2 sunyi. Then we heard the driver calling ' Who's going to Paris?' K'org dengan selambanya hanya angkat tangan. Bila dia tengok, terus dia sound 'Are u guys going to Paris or u want to stay in London?'. Zersssssss dengan pantasnya berlari dan masuk bus tetapi hampa sebab seat tinggal yang single je. So my advice guys, next time jangan berangan dan rebut seat siap2.. hahahaha

Once we arrived to the hostel we just lepaking and have a rest. Then we continue our journey to the Porte de Vances (one of the most famous flea market). For antique and vintage lover, this is definitely a place for you. I manage to bought some black&white sketches of Paris most popular places. I was trying to find some vintage accessories but the one that I want always the expensive one :P.

Seriously, this market is very long and we cant survive the damn cold bloody whether! So we skip to have lunch at the most tak sedap kebab place ever! . Hahaha
Balik hostel, guess what we're doing? Sleep until late. LOL

Actually, few blogger emailed me and asking bout Brazilian wax so these few information I hope would helping u girls out there who're confuse and no idea bout BZ wax

1) Beside Strip, there a few places offered this services. The one that I knew was Ozmosis in Bangsar. But I never try it over there so I cant say anything. Strip got 3 branches. One in Bangsar (same row as Mc'D and it's upstairs), one in Cineleisure or The Curve ( tak sure) and one in Sunway Pyramid. Normally I went to Bangsar coz dah kenal their staffs and I'm quiet comfortable there.

2) There are 2 type of Brazilian wax. One is called 'Hot Wax' and the other one call normal wax. Normally for 1st timer, Hot Wax is suggested. Coz Hot Wax ni sesuai for stiff hair (this is cause by shaving and etc). When I say hot it means really hot (takdela sampai melecur :P ). I normally go for Hot Wax because the pain is lesser. But the waxers will put a test on your skin first and make sure your skin can take it. And the price for Hot Wax is RM114.50 and normal wax is RM88.

3) Waxings will occur in a private room and you'll be left alone to remove your pants and underwear and you'll be asked to lie on a clean bed. Don't be shame with the waxers. And the best waxers are fast, which means less discomfort for you.

4) For those 1st timer, I have to be honest. It's a bit pain. Susah nak terangkan macamna. But ala we women can take anything u know. We can deliver a baby so apalah sangat sakit Brazilian Wax ni.. hahaha..

4) Once the waxing is complete, the waxer will tweeze any stray hairs and she may trim the remaining landing strip, or even create designs ( u have to see by yourself, susah nak explain.. hehe)

5) Don't forget to get the name of the waxer so when you make another appointment you can get the same person so you don't have to bare all for another complete stranger (wink). Typically, you'll need to wax every 2 to 4 weeks and the more you do it, the less painful it becomes.

6) And oh, the hair has to be a certain length before it can successfully waxed. Hair needs to be a quarter-inch if it's fine, a half-inch if it's coarse. Maknanya tak boleh terlalu pendek. Kalau panjang takpe coz they will cut it first using scissors before waxing.

Kita stop cerita honeymoon for a while.. nak update about our wedding outdoor shoot. For those who doesn't know, right after our reception (after all the guest left the wedding), the big black cloud came to say 'hi' and pouring his heavy rains.. hehe.. Hujan lebat gile k after that. So Fairuz said, is ok. We prospone our outdoor shoot next time. So after 1 mth and half barulah ada masa free to do the shooting. We chose Bt.Bintang area and wore our wedding dress & suit again (exactly like the day itself) but this time my make-up done by Ezral. He's the man I tell ya. FYI, Ezral is the official make-up artis for Datin Seri Rosmah (our 1st lady). Although is like last minute job, Ezral willing to help me coz we've known each other for quiet sometimes.

Liverpool

The popularity of The Beatles era contributes to Liverpool's status as a tourist destination and yeah apart from the football thingy. We departed from London around 9pm (if i'm not mistaken) via train (National Express) from London. The journey took around 3 hours. But according to our friends, it will take up to 5 hours during weekend coz it will stop station to another station. Once we arrived we took the classic black taxi to Hadi's house. Not that far just about 10-15min (ok, its damn cold right, i bet u really don't want to walk with your heavy bag pack :P ). Hadi and his wife doing their PHD and Master at University Liverpool so they don't mind we crash over the place for 2 days. Once after breakfast on the next day we took taxi again to the Anfield Stadium (if u or your partner is a huge fan of Liverpool FC, this is the place you should be. U must be crying here, i bet u will.. haha)

Memandangkan Chiwonkey and I not a football fans :P, we decided to ditch the tour n jalan2 di persekitaran luar stadium while waiting for Fairuz and Sara. The taxi driver over there so over friendly with their Engressss pekat punya accent. Sometimes its really funny when we're trying to sound like them. Haha. So far nothing interest there because yang ada cuma houses and few shop lot where majority were close. According to the people, ia hanya akan ramai ketika ada game bola. So after jalan2 tak tentu pasal dan cari sekolah John Lennon, LOL we back to city and looking for food. But apparently, it's so difficult to find a 'halal food'. We decided to when back to Hadi's home and cook Macaronni Cheese and Mushroom Soup we bought at 1 Pound shop.. hehe

To be honest, we bought the tickets to London a year before we set the wedding date. Haha, i'm more excited with honeymoon thingy compared to wedding :P. But, its just not only us coz we were tagging along with another couple yang juga pengantin lama. hee. Well, if u expecting kinda expensive trip, u're dead wrong!. Coz we choose 'a bagpack' style. We opt the 'hostel' instead and Air Asia as the official flight. We manage to conquer 4 cities within 2 weeks. Which are London, Liverpool, Barcelona and Paris. So let's start with London shall we..

London

We having minor problem actually on our first day. Haha. (Let's that just be our history aite..) But we manage to met Fairuz and Sara at Victoria Station London on Thursday morning. So we heading straight to Travelodge London King Cross Hotel, cleaning up ourselves and take a rest a bit before our journey to Bicester Village via Chiltern Railways .

Bicester Village is located in the heart of Oxfordshire, midway between London and Birmingham. FYI, Bicester Village ni outlet boutiques for luxury brands. Ada banyakkkkkkk designers brand such as Dior, Gucci, Selvatore Ferragamo, Calvin Klein, Anya Hindmarch dan banyak lagi. U just name it and sediakan fulusnya. hehe.. Well, we didnt enjoy this village much because baru 1stday and I don't want to spend my pounds here seems we have few days more, thus mesti kena berjimat cermat.

After an hour journey from Bicester to London, our stomach screaming like hell . Thus we having the most delicious kebab ever! haha. To bad, we forgot to snap the picture coz winter is so cruel and we can't think much. And the rest of the day we had so much fun jalan-jalan n visiting most of the fav places such as The London Eye near the River Thames, Tower of London, Westmister Abbey, Buckingham Palace, West End district area, Piccadily Circus dan to much shopping boutiqe hehe seperti H&M, Harrods, Mark & Spencer dan banyak lagi la.. Nak tulis penat.. ahha. Layan je la gambar but more in my facebook.

Well, since winter gelap cepat. By 5pm dah gelap gelita yea kawan-kawan so nuthin much we can do la. Just jalan and jalan before we proceed to Liverpool at the same day. Liverpool story kita cerita lain kali. So after 2 days at Liverpool we heading back to London and meeting Aunty Ida. The coolest aunt ever!. So she brought us to the famous Abbey Road (yeah, we did the beatles thing.. hehe), Wembley Stadium, Portobello Market (kat sini lah kedai buku dalam cerita Nothing Hill tu) and Tower Bridge. And we proceed to Paris that night!

Watching 'Valentine's Day' movie yesterday and seriously, I'm so falling in love with their flower warehouse (er I'm not sure that will be the exact word). Nevertheless, white/cream hydrangea, red roses and some green plant are really good combination. Trust me, it will enhance any wedding. The wedding shoes

Jovian Mandage is really professional, I must say. He managed to to came out with the comfortable shoes in a short time. Clap..clap.. hehe.. Although, at first I want some dramatic color for shoes, Jovian advised me to tone down with the colors as he doesn't want the shoes to get more attention than my dress n etc.. So, advised taken :) And thanks to Fiza for this wedding gift ;)

Hand bouquet

Remember how I'm so in love with hydrangea? But beauty always come with pricey package thus, Abang Khalid (Flora Etc) kinda mix up hydrangea with white roses which I love. And the flower look so sweet. But so sayang, the white roses nampak mati sikit coz ada tangan-tangan yang sebok bermain dgn my bouquet :P yeah, oh well never mind..

Favors

These are the most favorite thing during my wedding. Even makcik-makcik sebok tanya kalau ada lebih. Haha. Sponsored by Sabrina, we bought this cute little boxes frm Ole-Ole Manis. And we bought this candle too as the main gift at VIP table.

We did not think long when we decided to do the reception at Taman Rimba Kiara TTDI. As natural lovers, we're so in love with this Taman since the 1st day we stepped our foot here. So, the decision has been made. Nuthin unusual happened in the morning of 7 November 2009. Except, after we done with our make-up, we realized that all of family members including our brides mate and best man already at the Taman, thus left us with two of my flower girls :P haha, so Chiwonkey's (the groom) became a driver to his old Volvo. The funny part is, when we were passing toll, the girl looking at us with shocking face and said 'eh ada pengantin la'.. haha and we're just smiling all the way and hope nuthin will happen in our way..

We arrived safely and once we're there everyone keep preparing themselves including brides mate and best man plus Chiwonkey's side. At first I though of having selawat before the band played our song but I couldn't find neither MP3 nor Ustaz who can perform the selawat so, memang mat salleh habis la coz the song we chose is french song.. hehe :P and seriously, only 2 of us cud understand the meaning and both of us feels like crying when we're walking.. Plus when I see our garden setting, lagilah rasa nak nangis. Is like, I didn't imagine our wedding can turn such as beauty as this. :)

The weather, i tell u.. perghhhh.. gila panas. Which is good la kan. But both of us really suffering :P especially Chiwonkey with his suit. Most of the picture shown how he cant stand the heat and started to untie and unbutton his shirt. Nevertheless, people said wedding is once in a lifetime (hopefully, ameen), so nak tak nak redah je la. :P . Nasib baik ada payung and I couldn't find the one that I want. That blue umbrella courtesy of the best man (Thanks Meon!) And I was so happy to see most of my good friends attending the wedding. Eventho' it a simple wedding, its mean a lot for both of us.

Makan-makan after nikah

When we planned our wedding, we always worked together and it's only involved two of us. It's not that our family didn't want or care to help but both of us just didn't want to burden them. So, they let us decide on whatever's good for us. Well, although niat itu suci murni but it's kinda troublesome 4 us during nikah. What I mean is, every vendors kept calling us to do the checking here and there. Sampai nak make-up pun tak senang :P So, my advice is, nevertheless, please let your family handle thing or two so it wont be so much chaos on the day itself.

Well, we were declared as husband and wife on time as what we planned coz the kadi got another wedding to attend. And once Chiwonkey lafaz nikah and we're SAH, my tears were falling like the niagara waterfall.. haha.. First, I was so sad coz my late dad cudn't be around for my most happiest day ever ;(, secondly because my beloved brother a.k.a my best friend forever was the one who became my wali and thirdly because I was marrying an awesome friend & soul mate & dearie boyfriend & bandmate.. heh.. So the feelings are all jumbled up and I'm more than grateful to have families and friends during our special day.

The simple ceremony nevertheless got small error when the food only catered for 70packs while the guest that shown up climbed to 100. Luckily, my family saved the day by buyin some Sate and its so sayang coz eveyone kept saying the food so delicious. We chose lauk kampung as the nikah dishes. Just imagining the gulai daging salai, sambal belacan, ikan kering, telur masin.. fuh... I'm hungry already.. ahahaha..

Wedding, no matter how imperfect it is, wedding is always a wedding. 2 soul sharing their life and that's more important than anything else. Small or big, it doesn't matter, coz the most important thing is the future. A happy marriage is not made of what type of designer or how grand your wedding is but how both of u gonna survive through good and bad, through health and sickness and through joy and pain. Think wisely, follow your brain and heart not lust. ;)

So I will end this entry with few more photos and will continue the story with our garden wedding soon. To bride to be, I wish u guys good luck, chill and just relax. If its really your JODOH, everything gonna be just fine :). And not to forget Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday :)

had this funny conversation during Chiwonkey's bestie wedding yesterday. They talking about children, and here how the conversation look like:

Chiwonkey: Anak akak dah berapa sekarang?
Lan sister: Ohh baru dua je. Yang sulung tu lambat. Akak dapat masa umur dah masuk 30.
Chiwonkey: Ok la tu kak, saya dengan Lan next year pun dah 30 (Chiwonkey n I are same age)
Lan sister: Oh takpela, bini awak kan muda lagi..
Chiwonkey: ~~ Just smile whithout say any words~~

Me: ~kembang sekembang nya~~ ahahahahahhaa

Sometime is so funny when people thout I still like 25 or 26. Is not that I don like being young but I don want to be 'orang yang tak sedar diri itu sudah tua'.. ahahhahaa..

Wee..I'm back.. Sorry for keep u guys waiting for the next entry. I'm short of nice photos so that's y agak malas sikit nak update.. Haha.. Anyways, let's layan the hantaran from me to Chiwonkey. Remember, this entry? Yes, I've surrendered. And one of the reason because of shorthanded. So, I pass the task to my friend, Nadia.
Well, since my reception at the garden, Nadia and her cousins who not only brilliant and talented, hehe..come out with this idea. Where they implemented 'garden' feels to the hantaran. Using daisies and chrysanthemums as main role, makes the hantaran look so sweet and gorgeous yet simple.

As promised, this is our wedding story..
Before I start, haih sometimes I can be so clumsy and I've deleted pictures from my DSLR before save it to laptop. Dush..dush.. So, i try to curik some frm my brother and Fairuz Ismail..

1) Berinai
Since my wedding a bit of modern, I don't mind to inject bit of tradition or adat here and there. So I chose to do henna or 'berinai'. At first I was thinking to just do it at any store but Chiwonkey's friend offered me her services and of coz I'm more than happy when she wanna do it for free (but we gave her token la, of coz)Since this is the first time I ever wore inai (oh i hate nail coloring ya'all), so I just said yes when she asked me to tried out black henna on top of normal henna. But seriously, they turn out bit disaster yea kawan-kawan.. hahaha.. So, I advice, if u guys wanna do it, normal henna will do. Jangan lah gatal sangat nak mencuba sesuatu yang baru. But surprisingly, it turn out nice at photo tho'.. hek

2) Mini pelamin
Since we don have pelamin at 'taman', we choose to have one at house during nikah. When discussed with Abang Jak from Flora Etc, we requested a very simple yet classy pelamin. We don't fancy pelamin that will overwhelm us.. ahaha and oh we choose pink and white as nikah theme since we only have one reception. At first we wanna it to be blue and pink but we cant find any 'bunga pahar' that suite these color thus we surrender to pink. At lest we have variety in theme. Although, I don really fancy pink.. :P

3) Favors and bunga pahar
I bought boxes from Ole-ole manis for nikah and as well as for reception. For nikah, we opt this creamy box and insert fruit cake in. And I bought this creamy cystal bunga pahar at Semua House KL. If I'm not mistaken it's less than RM 2 per stick.

4) Make-up,dresses and hand bouquet
We requested a simple yet sweet baju kurung and baju melayu for our nikah. For me, nikah is a very holy moment thus, a decent dresses will do. Syaiful Bahrim's did a good job on these. And for make-up I choose more pinky and natural base. Unfortunely, Chomel still go for shading which I don really like it but most people said I look nice.. I donno, for me shading is so last season..And for hand bouquet at first I though I wanna do by myself but Abang Jak insist to do it for me.. So, saya menerima saja dengan hati yang terbuka..hehe

5) Bilik Pengantin
Haih, I cant find any pictures that really shown our room. Remember I've deleted my pictures!! :P So, I manage to steal it from my bestie, Lucy the Travelzilla.. hehe. I done all the deco by myself from painting to decoration. And so sayang I cant show u guys my artistic work at the wall. Nevermind.. Next time if rajin I just snap a picture for u guys okey..

So, end of part one.. Will continue the rest later. And I ended this entry with dua orang pengantin yang lapar dan tak kisah orang disekelilingnya.. hehe :P

Let's talk about grooming before the wedding shall we?..

1) This is very important thing to do before you get married. Beside facial, other things like Brazilian (for women) or Boyzilian (for men), Armpit & Leg Wax are very important. Of coz u don want to be hairy during your day right. :P
Talking about Brazilian Wax, I started doing it since 3 years back after a free trial at Strips, Bangsar. I know, you guys must think I'm crazy but guys.. it's not as bad as what you've seen in American Next Top Model or any other reality~blondie~show. Yeah, it might hurt a bit (beauty is pain honey :P ) but the result, a very clean down part and u will feel like a baby once again :)

2) Finally I manage to do my spa and I've done it 2 days before nikah. As a writer, I've done a lot of free trial spa and finally I chose Khareyana Spa at PJ. Oh I love this spa so much. Beside the reasonable price, u will fall in love with the setting ala-ala Bali and most importantly, u will done your shower, stem bath, massage and herbal bath in one room. Easy and breezy :)

I got this 'malas' fever already.. So lazy to keep this blog update.. :P sorry guys.. I was so busy last weekend coz parents in law came to KL and we had kenduri for Chiwonkey's Aunt & Uncle (they're gonna perform Haj this Thursday)and I was busying try out my new Bass (ehem, got present from my brother..heh)Not to forget we're gonna be in JB next week for 'sambut menantu kenduri'. So I have to settle up my job this week as my dateline is on 24th November.. Haih.. just imagine how busy I am. If only I could stop the clock.. heh

Ok, I got so many questions about the 'garden wedding' so ladies and gentlemen read this carefully yea :P

Q: Who should I contact for the garden and etc?..
A: Do u guys know that most of the 'taman' in KL is under DBKL (ok, this is for KLster people only k). So, u should heading to Lake Garden where u can find their office. They have listed so many 'taman' and you can actually pick and chose. Contact this person, En.Kassim 019-2279273 for further information. Please take note that he is 'some old grumpy man'. Please be patient and if can, let the bride do the talking (if u got what i mean *wink*)

Q: How much is the rental for the 'taman'
A: RM200. Believe in or not. :P . All you have to do is bring your own set up, caterer and etc. Yes, this including electricity and they do have public toilet :)

Q: Can we do wedding at night?
A: Yes dear. You can choose whenever or whatever time you want. When you meet En.Kassim he'll ask u what time and date would you prefer. And remember this post? They did it during night too. :)

There are 2 important thing during a wedding. Number 1 :your make-up and Number 2 : photography. U can cut down budget for almost everything but not in photography. Why? Because this is the thing that u can keep and it will last till end. Talking about ours well basically we chose Fairuz Ismail frm Avicenna Studio as our 'orang kuat'.. hehe (like I have choice .. kiddin :P )Actually, Fairuz is not only our photographer but a good friend of ours. We've known each other since 2006 (if I'm not mistaken) and I already knew that he's gonna be our official photographer if I got married someday. Well, the time has come and my dream's gonna be fulfill. Why him? We adore his work and most importantly we gonna feel comfortable to pose :P..

- If the father's passed away, be prepared with these:

Surat Kematian: To verify the death of the person.
Surat Nikah Bapa & Ibu: To double confirm the bloodline.

While your at it, get these documentations ready:

YES! I am single and not married letter : a formal letter from your workplace; verifying your marital status.
HIV Test : Walk in to the nearest Klinik Kesihatan (in your vicinity) or any private clinic/hospital to undergo the test. Get the HIV form from the Pejabat Agama Islam Daerah (PAID) - DO NOT go to any PAID. Make sure you go to the one with the authority to do so. Let's say your nikah venue is Puchong - you go to the PAID in Shah Alam.
Pre-Marriage Certificate: or famously known as Kursus Kahwin. Bring your i-phones, get over the 2-day course, get the cert but don't come back empty :-)

Getting the related forms at the PAID:

Borang 2A (To be filled by the groom-to-be)
Borang 2C (To be filled by the bride-to-be)
Borang 2D (To be filled by the 'wali')
Borang Mastautin (To be filled by both parties) - bring 2 witnesses each to the Tok Penghulu or the authorized person in your vicinity to get it signed and verified.

Step by step procedure:

1. Groom-to-be fills in Borang 2A; prepares (get them signed and verified) all the related documents mentioned in the form and then passes it to the bride-to-be. This procedure is standard and this has to be done before the bride-to-be passes her documents for processing. To do this, you must get in touch with the respective person in your qariah and he will help you get it done.

2. Once the groom-to-be settles his part, the bride then proceeds to process her form Borang 2C (get them signed and verified) along with the related documents. To do this, you must get in touch with the respective person in your qariah and he will help you get it done. Both sets of forms must now be submitted to the respective PAID.

3. The respective PAID will then double-check the forms and later issue a letter of consent; stating that it is okay for both parties to get married.

4. Once you've got the letter of consent, proceed to meet the tok kadi (jurunikah) and pass him the letter of consent together with the 2 sets of forms.

p/s - If you have any question or things that you're unsure of; get acquainted with the people at your nearby masjid/surau, 'tok kadi' and also Mr. Google. I'm sure you'll be amazed at how blessed you are - because you're getting married.

October really kills me.. Work and Wedding Stuff make my life insane :P And yesterday when Chiwonkey asked me what are actually the stuffs that I want for super massive cleaning house and my answer is 'I don't know'..haha.. seriously my brain is too packed until I cant' think of any.. apatah lagi for update this blog.. Aiyo, am I getting old? :P

Thus, I decided to summarize all updates:

1) Oh, finally we found ring for Chiwonkey. Initially, we wanna proceed with Mariq Diamonds as well (since he do my ring) but because of budget wise and time consuming we decided to just buy it at any of jewellery store. After submitting our form at JAIS, we accidentally found this ring at Shah Alam. Chiwonkey loves it and it look good on him too. Beside, he doesn't want that ring to be expensive so apa yang boleh jimat, dijimatkan (or in other word, he rather spend money on guitar.. hehehe).

2) We already distribute the invitation card to families and friends, bit by bit.. Still, I don have enuff time to post some of it. Will do it today and hopefully sempat sampai before the wedding. For those still don receive it, sabaq no.. the card will arrive.. Tunggguuuuuuuu :)

2) The boxes for favors (nikah + reception)and Candle for main table already arrived. We bought it from Ole-ole Manis and I'm loving it!. Plus 20 small birdcages we bough at Nilai 3 for V.I.P.

3) Chiwonkey's done with his suit fitting. Just waiting for mine and his Baju Melayu for nikah.

4) We're done with painting the living room and master bedroom. So just waiting for putting some lighting like chandelier and waiting for the bedroom set we ordered. We choose the affordable one and it's courtesy of my sister.. Thanks sis, love yeah..

5) Not to forget the bunga pahar. We bought it at Jalan TAR and its cream color. Not very fancy but simple and nice. And its affordable too. Less than RM5 per stick.

Sekian saja laporan saya buat masa ni.. Anything else, will update later. Now, I've to submit 2 articles by the end of day. I hate manic Monday! :P

Was posting this status 'where can i find my wedding shoes' at my facebook last week. And because of that, one of my good friends responds with a good news. I was shocked + happy and the same time felt so released...Y? because she wanna buy me shoes as my wedding gift. Not only that, she wanna make it custom made! She was very close with Jovian Mandagie, so I went to his boutique just now, sketching the design, measuring my giant feet (hehehe) and we're all set! Will be meeting him again this 30th October, just nice before the wedding. Can't wait :)

Finally, we managed to go to Flora Etc again and paid the upfront to Abang Jak (Razak). Actually, Abang Jak is no stranger to me as we have always worked together since GLAM DEKO was launched. While shooting his apartment for last issue, he offered me to do our wedding and ask me to stop over his store (2nd Floor @AmpWalk) and from there the story begin..hehe. Well, for those who not familiar with him, Abang Jak used to work in U.S and one of the flower decorator who responsible in Brat Pit and Jennifer Aniston wedding. Cool eh? And it is very honored to have him as our wedding planer (kerana kami hanyalah dari golongan orang-orang biasa saje).

My wedding counting track says, its gonna be 1 month and 9 days to go.. Wot?? Seriously, I'm so nervous but the same time happy :) Talking what else should we do during this last month, yeah now its time for grooming! At this point of time, gonna be the best for us to do a facial treatment. FYI, its a big no-no to do a facial a week or few days from your wedding day. Coz skin might show reaction after the treatment (and this is normal) and of course you don't want any redness or moon face during your big day! heh. As my lifestyle editor once said in his article,'Although, you bought a custom made suit, u still need a tailor to altered a bit so it will look nicely on your body'.. Thus, having a tailor made suit much easier than custom made but is depends on your needs and brand conscious. Well, tomorrow Chiwonkey and I with 2 of our entourage..hehe will go to this tailor at The Mall. I've seen his workmanship before and I tell ya, it's quiet satisfied plus it's affordable for a one piece suit.

So,let's talk about bed room deco for Nikah. FYI, we gonna have Nikah ceremony in ~soon to be our house~. Yeah, not my parents house or siblings house or etc. Reason being, we gonna start our life here so might as well we start from the beginning. Get it? heh.. In other words, its easy to have empty house so less hustle (no need to angkat so much barang..n apa la) plus we got the chance to deco our bedroom and its permanent! yeay. We can just leave the bedroom as what it was. Well, because I'm also a writer and have done few copies for deco magazine, I've so many ideas in mine. Well.. I'd say I'm bit lucky when come to wedding (altho, our caterer pull up last minute.. pfffffttttttt). Reason being, I kinda close with certain peoples who working with wedding line. And talking about dresses, I have few designers who're close with me and amongst them I choose Syaiful Baharim. For those who doesn't have clue who he was, let's talk abt him a lil bit. Syaiful is one of the local promising designer and he used to team up with Rizalman Ibrahim's until 2006 (if i'm not mistaken). Then he decided to open up his own boutique at Plaza Damas, Sri Hartamas until now. Amongst celebrities and VIP that wearing his creation during wedding are Maya Karin, Linda Jasmin, Raja Shahirah Aisyah (daughter of Datuk Raja Kamarul Bahrin Ahmad Shah) and the list go on n on.. Why I choose him at the first place? Beside the 'friendship' reason, I love the way he work and his professionalism. He don't mind to work within my budget (yes, he is a designer..am I crazyyy??) and listening to my idea carefully. For that, I adore him.

in the making.. part 1

Let's start with last weekend.. Since we just bought material for receptions (for my dress), we still have debt for our nikah outfit and Chiwonkey's suit, therefore we utilize our weekend by looking for the material. Initially, I wanna do a baju kurung Pahang for nikah which using Thai Silk for baju and the Songket for kain. But when we step in to the store (at Ampang Point) Chiwonkey doesn't like the idea of Thai Silk which he found the kain look 'dead'.. heh :P. Beside saya teramat menyampah with the sales girl (orang Thailand yang sangat kekwat) So, we decided to ditch this material and go with less hustle. Lucky us coz beside this store, there's one store that selling materials for dresses. Not only that, I found one particular chiffon sari that quiet nice and affordable. But wait, I don't want to rush so we decided to check out Gulatis's near Ampang Point too. Went to Gulatis with disappointing feeling coz none capturing our eyes. Hence decision had been made and back to the store earlier to do the purchasing. We bought material for Chiwonkey's Baju Melayu as well. Yeay, done!

At lest, you don have to walk much or being cheated by the sales girl/guy who can twist your mind in just few second.. hehe.. :P All you have to bear in mind is.., 'What is your budget?'

Tying the Knot

I finally brought my family to meet Jacky's family last Sunday. The confirmation of this event was done a tad last minute so I was searching all over the Net on what to bring for a 'merisik' + 'meminang' event such as ours only a night before that. After reading some stuffs, I finally came to the conclusion that just sticking to the basic mechanics and the sole reason for the occasion was best. I only ordered a 'sirih junjung' and a basket full of fruits from Kak Nuridah (013-3693240) from Kajang. But I'm glad we didn't forget the most important thing I was supposed to bring; which was the ring. Fuhhh..

Alhamdulillah, the discussion went well, we've got our big day's date fixed, my parents did got acquainted to her family more than ever, the food was great and as for Jacky and myself; it was another happiest day for us :D

The Main 'Course'

It was 11.7.09 as Jacky and myself went for the 'kursus kahwin'. WANI PESONA was the place we registered at and I gotta say, not bad of a place to be for the purpose. It's located in Setiawangsa; amongst rows of shophouses nearby KRU's company. Although the place is a little cramped, we did manage to survive the 2 day course successfully ;-)

The invited speakers for the course were from different backgrounds and most of them never fail to crack 'double meaning' jokes in between to keep us awake thruout each session. Yes, they resort to go that far to make sure the compulsary information is passed to the participants. LOL

Some useful tips based on experience:

Get enough sleep the night before the course.
Charge your handphone and install games (a few) in it so you can indulge yourself in between boring speakers (hi jacky! :-P)
Sit in front. (Speakers tend to ask questions to those who sit at the back) - but they answer their own questions too :P

The course usually starts on Saturday at 2.30pm till 7.00pm and commences the next day from 8.45am till 5.00pm.

choosing your wedding color

I believe, most of the brides and grooms will have difficulty choosing a wedding theme color or maybe not.. :P. Most people I think make their choices based on their favorite shade or favorite flower. So, here are some tips that hopefully can make u decide easily:

1) U need to choose one primary and one or two accents. Start off by seeing if there are any predetermined factors
2) For those who choose black.. well, while sophisticated, it can end up looking like a funeral but..but you can balance it out with bright color or lots of crisps white.
3) Pastels are safe but too much of it will make it look pale :P. On the other note, think about what you wear normally in your clothing and the shades you’ve used to decorate your home. These are probably colors you are comfortable around already.
5) Picking too many wedding colors will end up yr wedding like 'circus'..seriously. Two is perfect and three still works!

Colors make such important issue in Malays Wedding. All u need to do is think wisely. Oh! this colors wheel might help..

But a day before yesterday, one of my colleague suggested this place called 'Laman'. Was on leave yesterday and 1st thing I did was check out the place. The minute I saw it, I had nuthin to say except 'I'm so lovin it!'. The place is just nice to fit our 300-350 guest. Meet with Anip the assistant for Rohaizi(Laman's planner) and she gave me the package rate and etc. But, like Chiwonkey said, if we do the reception here, it wont really gv us the garden feeling. Well, still.. we havent decide yet until we get the quotation frm our Wedding Decorator..

I remembered in 90s when I was still in primary school.. the beauty technology is not as sophisticated as today. The mak andam (beautician) seems to applying thick make-up and wig when come to hairstyle. And it does applied to my elder sis wedding thou!.. haha.. still, she's the most gorgeous bride's I ever seen :D As for me, definitely I choose natural yet classy hairstyle. I'm thinking of nice and clean bun for nikah (solemnization) and maybe a bit loose bun or in other word I wanna look 'effortless' yet classy during reception. As for Chiwonkey, I love his hair now. I don't like the fact that guy should have clean cut during wedding (and yeah of course he has to wear songkok during nikah) . It always look like they wanna join an army force :P but of course, a trim must be done before the wedding and I was thinking if Kay from Centro Hair Saloon will do the honor to my hubby to be..Some tips for all brides and grooms out there, u can always shares an idea with your mak andam before the wedding. So they will have a rough idea whtr the hairstyles suite you or not. Talk to them nicely, coz they will consider your taste too..

Ring O'

Met with Mariq Haqmim Marzuki (a gemmologist and a businessman), a friend of ours that will be helping us in designing my Jacky's ring. We hung out for a good couple of hours filled with fun and laughter while he helped us to mix and match some 'millis' (mini diamonds) and arrange them in their best placements. It's gonna be a special and very personalized wedding ring :-)

Jacky seemed excited and was into the whole 'diamonds re-arranging' thing. I could not help but smile and just indulge in the moment as well. Next step, Mariq and myself are going to survey the design that's caught Jacky's attention to aid in our designing quest. Hope the final output will be great!

what's a wedding without flowers?

Hate it or love it, no one can ever deny how important flowers for a wedding. Most of the wedding I've been love roses so much. U can see from the 'pelamin' deco to 'hantaran' to hand bouquets, roses conquered all. To be honest, I don really know the existing of other flower except roses, lily's and ...err I don know...aiyak! But, since I've to write in GLAM DEKO, my knowledge seems wider. And now, I really fall in love with hydrangea, peonies and tulips(it's hard to find in Malaysia though). When I was in Rizalman's boutique last April, he did told me where can I find hydrangea. I think somewhere in Pudu. Will tag Chiwonkey to check the location soon!

Working in magazine line somehow always gv me so much advantage especially in wedding. You name it, from caterer to make-up artist to designer and etc..you can just actually pick, choose and dump.. hehe. Talking about wedding cake, my boss early said that she wanna sponsoring my cake (but that one is like few month back, I'm not sure whtr she really meant it or not.. ahahaha) Well, basically her friends or to be known as Kak June is seriously an awesomely cake maker. The decoration I tell ya, so gorgeous! From cakes to cupcakes, she like to experiment with complicated design..

To very traditional Malay wedding, 'boiled egg' always number one choice as a wedding favors. And Chiwonkey moms also did prefer boiled egg to be given during wedding. I once read why boiled egg is synonym with Malay’s wedding. According to elder’s people, egg means fertility (married = having children). Giving an egg is like a prayer and blessing to the new couple as they are gonna have a family one day. As time passing by, this tradition some how being lifted behind.. Oh, I don say, it’s totally forgotten but modern Malaysian now days seems being more creative than before. Talking about ours, Sabrina, one of my best friends agreed to sponsor this so called little thing. Yet, I still can’t decide what I want coz there’s any in mind now. To be honest, I don really fancy some favors like handkerchief, or little souvenir coz the cutely doesn’t last long. It belongs to dustbin, believe it or not..Feel free throw some ideas guys.. It really help, trust me..

- I personally think this statement symbolizes the love that a couple have for each other. So the basic formula is if(diamonds == forever) then, love = forever. What else could they wish for except for wanting to be together; building and sharing a life together - and carrying new responsibilities together.

When it comes to choosing the wedding ring for your other half, I want to make sure I get the best looking ring (with diamonds of course!) for her. Amongst the options that I've surveyed from the market - based on her preference input, a solitaire ring would mean bliss! But on the other hand, a beautiful wedding band would do as well - if gettin a solitaire is beyond our budget.

Here are some of the options we've been eyeing for the past few weeks:

And this is a solitaire ring. Not exactly the design Ms Jacky showed me, but this is somehow the rough idea of how it looks (Mind me...I'm still learning bout wedding bands, solitaire, princess cut, karat etc)

When I was young, the things that I always avoid are.. going to wedding.. Haha.. I still remember whenever dads or moms asked to accompany them, they have to bribe me with something, e.g : Cassettes or any VHS.. Still, until now I don’t really fancy wedding coz if only I have too, I’ll choose close friends and relatives (like I have a choice ).That’s why I adore simple yet a very nice wedding. So, I would feel comfortable and the day will happen smoothly. Talking about nice wedding, currently we are planning to do a garden wedding and talking about reference, I found these wedding so lovely. I mean the colors; the ambiance and the wedding dress look so magnifique! Not so many peoples are dares to come out with these concept. What do you u think?

Wow. This is it. Jacky and myself decided to put up this blog as some sort of a journal for our upcoming journey - to the next phase in life (bein married!). Was it Lucy who suggested this idea? Yea, I think so. In this blog, we lay down most of the stuffs that are related to our wedding preparations etc. With this, it's just one of the way we could think of to share whatever it is we put in here with you guys.
